Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Browser storage, such as “local storage”, does a similar job. In this policy, “cookies” covers both.
Some are necessary for the site to work. Others, such as analytics cookies, are optional, and I only use them with your consent.
What this site stores
These items are set by this site and stay in your browser. They’re needed for things you choose to do, so they don’t need your consent, and they’re never used for tracking or advertising.
- muddaa-cookie-consent
- Remembers whether you chose “Accept all” or “Necessary only”, and when, so the banner doesn’t ask again. After 12 months the banner asks again.
- muddaa-resource-lead
- Set when you send the free-guide form. Keeps the guides unlocked on this device and holds the name, email, country and phone number you entered. Kept until you clear it or click “Not you?”.
- muddaa-booking
- A cookie set only after you book a call. It carries your booking (day, time, topic, first name) to the confirmation page, so none of it appears in the page address. Deleted after 30 minutes.
Analytics cookies
Only if you click “Accept all”. Until then, the Google Analytics script doesn’t load at all, so nothing is sent to Google. Advertising features stay off, even if you accept.
Google Analytics shows me, in total, which pages and guides are read, roughly where visitors are and which devices they use. Google uses your IP address to estimate your location. It says it doesn’t log or store the IP addresses of visitors from the EU, UK and Switzerland, and I never see IP addresses in the reports. Detailed data is deleted after 14 months.
It sets these cookies on muddaa.com. Some browsers delete them sooner.
- _ga
- Tells visits from the same browser apart, using a random ID. Lasts about 2 years.
- _ga_<site ID>
- Keeps track of your current visit. The name ends with this site’s Analytics ID. Lasts about 2 years.
What I don’t use
No advertising cookies, no social media pixels and no cross-site tracking. The fonts are served from this site, not a font service. I don’t sell cookie data or share it with advertisers.
Embedded content
If I embed videos, for example from YouTube or Vimeo, I’ll use their privacy-enhanced modes where offered. Once an embedded video loads or plays, that provider may set its own cookies and collect data under its own policy.
Changing your choice
Change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer, or the button on the Legal page.
If you switch to “Necessary only”, Google Analytics stops from then on. To remove analytics cookies already set, clear this site’s cookies in your browser.
Your browser settings
Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies and site data, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking everything may stop parts of the site working, such as keeping the free guides unlocked.
A private or incognito window forgets it all when you close it.
